The TNE 2015 recard process continues for students who did not complete the process during the month of November and December. From the 2nd to the 31st of January, the students who did not take their picture for the new TNE will be able to do so at the Emach offices, at Calle Brasil #591. Hours of operation are from 09:00 a.m. to 17:00 p.m.

It should be noted that during the month of November the process was carried out at the ULS offices, which had more than 90% student participation. The new TNE complies with strict security measures that seek to prevent counterfeiting or misuse.

To carry out the procedure, they must present themselves with their identity card and the valid TNE.

Within the framework of the tri-state agreement in 2013, the multifunctional photocopier was delivered to the CEC of Pedagogy in Basic General Education and Agricultural Engineering.

Jointly, the Student Federation of the University of La Serena and the General Directorate of Student Affairs (DGAE), formally delivered a multifunctional photocopier to the Student Centers of the Pedagogy in Basic General Education and Agronomic Engineering of the Limarí Campus. , located in the city of Ovalle. 

The photocopier - which is added to the one delivered a few days ago to the CEC of Music - was received by the members of the Pedagogy Student Center, who together with the CEC of Agronomy delivered the project to the FEULS. 

In this sense, the person in charge of Student Welfare of the Pedagogy Student Center, Emiliano Mallega, valued the measure, indicating that "it is very useful for us, for both Basic and Agronomy it was necessary to have a photocopy machine on Campus (...), appreciates the support of the DGAE, which has always given constant support to the Basic degree.”

The student also highlighted the importance of the CECs submitting a formal proposal to the FEULS. “We urge all the CECs to obtain these photocopiers in the self-management projects and the children here moved and generated their project between both CECs, that is why now they have their photocopier, which is something very good for the Campus,” she said. .

Finally, the director of Student Affairs, Mg. Miguel Zuleta stressed that it is essential that "students submit formal projects, both to the DGAE, or in this case to the FEULS, so that we all together have a better University."

Hernán Godoy, State Professor of Plastic Arts, valued the possibility of exhibiting the work of the workshops. “This exhibition serves to disseminate the work of the students and also to motivate future members of artistic expression courses. The idea is quite basic but it has an effect since the students see the work done by their classmates in the yard,” the teacher concluded.

The Folkloric Projection Ensemble of the University of La Serena, dependent on the Department of Extracurricular Activities of the General Directorate of Student Affairs of this house of higher education, scheduled its "Recital" for this Saturday, December 6, at 20:00 p.m. Annual 2014", which will be held in the "Ignacio Domeyko" Room of the Faculty of Engineering (Benavente 980).

The University Folkloric Ensemble is directed by the professor, Sixto Cortés Alcayaga, and the sub-direction will be in charge of the Professor of Music, Mauricio Cortés González, basing his work on the different facets of Chilean choreographic-musical folklore in a plane of application, where it is recreated and brought to the stage with an artistic purpose.

For next Saturday, December 6, in its Annual Recital, the University Ensemble will stage three folklore paintings, which will include Dances from the Chilota Area, Central Zone and festive-recreational dances from the North of Chile; In addition, members of the “Alma Latina” University Group will participate as guest artists.

The entire community is invited to witness this university cultural artistic spectacle. Entry is free.

More than four decades of artistic career

It should be noted that the ULS Folkloric Ensemble has an uninterrupted artistic career of more than 41 years, its objective being to preserve, disseminate and exalt traditional choreographic musical values, as well as constitute a means of expression where students can channel their cultural artistic concerns, tending toward their integral development. 

The group is made up of around 30 people, mostly students and graduated professionals, with a constant renewal of its members because, being students of different levels and careers, they remain in the group only as long as they are students of the University, even though in many cases the roots are so strong that once they graduate, they continue to actively participate in it.

His third consecutive star obtained the Mechanical Execution table after defeating the Mine Execution team in the penalty shootout, in the grand final of the ULS “Rodrigo Méndez López” Intercareer Football Championship, an event organized by the Department of Physical Education and DGAE Sports.

The person responsible for opening the account in favor of the champions was Luis Díaz, who managed to score his first goal in the first minute of the game. While Fabio Aguirre achieved the tie for the Execution in Minas team in the twentieth minute.

The winning team was awarded $150.000 and will represent the University of La Serena in the interuniversity championship that will take place in Santiago next year. 

The title of scorer of the contest was won, for the second time in a row, by Maximiliano Ávalos, from Execution Engineering in Mines.

The dispute for third place featured Construction Engineering and Industrial Civil Engineering, where the latter team managed to win by 4 points to 1.

The delivery took place at the CEC offices, where Estefanía Meneses, in charge of protocol at the Music CEC, evaluated the possibility of having a photocopier. “We are very happy, we are one of the units furthest from everything, so for us it is a great help. As representatives, we appreciate the help, they are fundamental things for the development of university activity,” she expressed.

Likewise, the president of the FEULS, Mario Contreras, stated that "we are happy, it is one of the benefits committed by the previous Federation preceded by Ken Rivera (...), we are happy, we want to continue supporting our colleagues," he stressed.

Meanwhile, Alex Arancibia, representative of the DGAE, expressed his commitment to the student body. “We trust our students to make responsible use of these photocopiers, which we know is a necessity for university tasks,” he said. 

This multifunctional photocopier is the first one delivered to the students, for internal use and the students' own administration.
