Accreditation and Quality Assurance
Within the framework of the institutional strategic line of consolidation of quality, identity and relevance in the training of professionals and advanced human capital for the development of the region and the country, the University of La Serena has committed to ensuring the quality and effectiveness of undergraduate and postgraduate training processes, consistent with the institutional educational model.
Institutional Accreditation:
Institutional accreditation is a mandatory process for autonomous higher education institutions and basically consists of a committee of external evaluators evaluating and verifying compliance with criteria and quality standards established by the National Accreditation Commission, which refer to to resources, processes and results, the existence of internal mechanisms for quality assurance, considering both their existence and their systematic application and results, and their consistency with the mission and purpose of the institution.
On November 03, 2021, the University of La Serena was accredited for a period of 5 years, in the areas of Institutional Management, Undergraduate Teaching, Research and Linkage with the Environment, reaching the Level ADVANCED.
Dentistry and Pedagogies: mandatory accreditations
The careers of Dentistry, Pedagogy in Basic General Education, Pedagogy in History and Geography, Pedagogy in English, Pedagogy in Mathematics and Physics, Pedagogy in Musical Education, Pedagogy in Chemistry and Natural Sciences, Pedagogy in Early Childhood Education, Pedagogy in Differential Education, Pedagogy in Mathematics and Computing, Pedagogy in Spanish and Philosophy, Pedagogy in Biology and Natural Sciences, must compulsorily submit to the accreditation process.
For the accreditation of each degree, a committee of external peers evaluates and verifies that they meet the criteria and quality standards established by the National Accreditation Commission, with the aim of certifying their quality, based on the purposes declared by the institution. that imparts it and the current regulations that govern its exercise.
