The musicians will surprise their audience with a shared concert, both playing the same instrument.

As part of the “2014 Concert Series” organized by the Extension Directorate of the University of La Serena, next Thursday, August 21 at 19:00 p.m. The “Dúo Temperamento” will perform in La Serena, made up of ULS academic Javier Malebrán and Agnieszka Korpyta, a Polish pianist who is passing through the Coquimbo Region. Both artists will perform a concert that will include solo piano pieces and four-hand duo that will seek to give a renewed air to chamber concerts in the area.

Malebrán maintained that this activity aims to give back to the community for the knowledge acquired in their studies at the ULS and abroad, and to give a special attraction to the piano concerts, since it is not common in the region to see two musicians playing. the same instrument. This concert also seeks to connect the regions of Atacama and Coquimbo, since both artists performed in the recent Chamber Concert Series in the Third Region.

The performers will seek to surprise attendees through great compositions that marked an era. “The works we perform belong to the period of neo-romanticism in my case, and in the case of Agnieszka, she will play music by Fryderyk Chopin, a Polish composer who belongs to the period of Romanticism, and in the end we finish with the Hungarian dances of Brahms, which It is also from the period of Romanticism,” said ULS academic Javier Malebrán.

For her part, Agnieszka Korpyta brings for this piano concert compositions by a great European character, from her distant Poland. “In this concert I am going to play works by Fryderyk Chopin, since he is a Polish composer I thought it would be a good idea to play his music. We also play four-hand works by Brahms, which are close because it is music from the Romantic period,” she added.
