La Serena University Symphony Orchestra enchants the public with “Romanticism”

The next show will be dedicated to symphonic tango, in a special event that will take place on Friday, July 4 at the Coliseum of the regional capital.

In the midst of the celebrations for Chile's victory over Australia in the Soccer World Cup, the audience of the Symphony Orchestra of the University of La Serena began to arrive en masse at the Municipal Theater of La Serena, prepared to enjoy the "Romanticism" concert. which the professional cast presented under the direction of the German maestro Gottfried Engels.

As usual, audiences of all ages and even entire families came to the place, where the musicians dazzled with their interpretations of ''Peripeteia II'' by Manuel Contreras, Symphony 104 in D Major by Franz Joseph Haydn (I Mov Adagio-Allegro, II Mov. Andante, III Mov. Minuetto-Allegro and IV Mov. Finale-Spiritoso) and the Concerto for Horn and Orchestra No. 1 in Eb major Op 11 by Richard Strauss (I Mov. Allegro, II Mov. Andante, III Mov. Rondo Allegro).

The latter featured the great performance of the soloist Bobbi-Jane Berkheimer, first horn of the U. de La Serena Symphony Orchestra, Master in Musical Arts (French horn) from the University of New York in Stony Brook, Long Island, under the tution of Professor William Purvis. Berkheimer and the musicians of the ULS group presented a first-class show, under the tutelage of Maestro Engels, chief conductor of the Bonn Hofgarten Orchestra (Germany). 

It is important to highlight that the next Seasonal Concert of the Symphony Orchestra of the University of La Serena will be on Saturday, August 8, but in the month of July there will be a special and unmissable show, “Tango Sinfónico”, an opportunity in which Among the guests will be the singers Katy Campos and Pablo Moraga, as well as the musicians Rodolfo Jorquera and Cristian Molina on bandoneon.

Led by the prominent national director Francisco Núñez, the group and its guests promise to enchant those who attend the Monumental Coliseum of La Serena next July 4, at 20:00 p.m., with their performances of ''Nocturna'', ' 'Summer of Buenos Aires', 'Nostalgias', 'A low fire' and 'It is said about me', among other masterful works.
