Board of Artistic Education convenes the II Seminar on Creation Experiences and Aesthetic Appreciation in the Classroom

The theoretical-practical activity will take place on November 15 and 16 at the Gabriela Mistral Regional Library in La Serena.

The Regional Table for Artistic Education, of which the University of La Serena is a part, arises from the National Plan for Arts in Education 2015-2018, developed jointly by the Ministry of Education and the now Ministry of Cultures, the Arts and Heritage (former National Council of Cultures and Arts). Its implementation in the Coquimbo Region begins in 2015, finalizing its formation in 2016.

This 2018, the members of the Regional Board of Artistic Education (MREA) together with public and private institutions defined a work plan supported in its planning and implementation by both ministries.

As a result of the work plan of the MREA from the axes: "Strengthening in the implementation of the arts curriculum" and "Continuous and initial training of teachers, artists, cultivators and management teams in art and education" of the National Plan of Arts in the Education, the "Second Seminar on Creation Experiences and Aesthetic Appreciation in the Classroom" arises, an activity of a theoretical and practical nature that will take place on November 15 and 16 at the Gabriela Mistral Regional Library in La Serena.

The meeting divides its days by calling for Thursday, November 15, to the teachers of our region, proposing from creative practices and strategies a delivery of tools that facilitate experimentation in various artistic languages ​​for later development in the classroom.

First and second cycle visual arts teachers who are developing the field in schools or colleges in Elqui, Limarí and Choapa are especially invited, who will be able to participate in a general introductory module and previously enroll in one of the 4 practical modules associated with the Artistic Education Toolbox (considers the delivery of a copy for each participant), with the options: Muralism as an artistic expression (Luis Rivera Pinto), Textile art and sustainable development (Claudia Suárez Jansson), Xilography and Cultural Heritage ( Hernán Godoy Rojas) and Contemporary Image Work (Tatiana Alfaro Chávez).

On Friday, November 16, meanwhile, directors of educational establishments are strongly invited to participate in a conference that will feature regional and national presentations on Artistic Education and the contribution of teaching from art to children and young people, promoting artistic and cultural education as an integral development of students in all their formative stages, inviting the day to close with the development of reflection and dialogue tables, where the results of the activities will be shared together with the delivery of the "Catalog Artistic Education 2018” in digital format.

It should be remembered that the first action developed within the framework of this work plan was the "First Intercommunal Meeting of Pedagogical Coordinators - Artistic and / or Technical Heads of Curricular Plans of Artistic Schools 2018", on October 26 and 27, instance unprecedented in our region, which included the participation of representatives of regional and national artistic schools: Eliseo Videla Jorquera de Ovalle College of Arts, Cerro Guayaquil College of Monte Patria, Jorge Peña Hen Experimental Music School of La Serena, Cultural Artistic College Form-arte of La Serena next to the Sol del Illimani School of Santiago, and the Music High School of Copiapó. The Pedro Aguirre Cerda School in La Serena was a participant and, represented by Gustavo Araya Pérez (Technical Head of the Arts Curricular Plan), officiated as coordinator and main manager of this enriching initiative. The activity was accompanied by representatives of Puerto Cordillera Local Service, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage.
