This first concert is carried out thanks to the collaboration and coordination of the OSULS and the Valdivia Chamber Orchestra (OCV), the French Embassy and the French Institute of Chile.

“The University of La Serena Symphony Orchestra is a source of pride for our institution; it has represented our university and our region in various settings, such as recently in Frutillar. The quality of its musicians and music, and the role they play, is fundamental in our promotion of culture and connection with the environment. For us it is a luxury to be able to enjoy a new anniversary with a great concert framed in the 43 years that the University of La Serena is celebrating,” said the Rector, Dr. Luperfina Rojas Escobar.

The presentation will be conducted by the musical director of the OCV, Rodolfo Fischer, and will feature the participation of the prominent French violinist, Liza Kerob, concertmaster of the Monte Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra (Monaco) - one of the most important in Europe.

Currently, he divides his time between the Valdivia Chamber Orchestra in Chile and his orchestral conducting classes at the Musik-Akademie in Basel, Switzerland, complementing his work as a guest teacher with a growing and fruitful pedagogical work in charge of training. of numerous youth directors, thanks to the support of the FOJI Foundation.

Thanks to a valuable cooperation alliance “we managed to join forces to offer this tour with the outstanding violinist Liza Kerob, concertmaster of one of the most important orchestras in Europe. I hope that these instances are a model that can be repeated in the future, because it makes it much more interesting for artists who come from so far away. With the OSULS, she will play Concerto No. 3, perhaps the most famous of Mozart's concertos, and in Valdivia she will do another different repertoire; So I am very happy that it turned out and to be able to be in front of the OSULS with a program entirely dedicated to my beloved composer Mozart,” Maestro Fischer explained.
