Admission 2024: Industrial Civil Engineering, Mining Civil Engineering and Law among the ULS majors with the most enrollments

The University filled 99% of its places during the first registration period.

The University of La Serena has had a successful 2024 Admission process, which during the first registration process had high demand, completing 99% of the registration of those selected.

Among the majors with the most new students enrolled are Industrial Civil Engineering, Civil Mining Engineering and Law.

The ULS Rector, Dr. Luperfina Rojas, highlighted the excellent results of the 2024 Admission process and stressed that “the quality and tradition of our institution is valued by young people and their families, who trust us for their professional training and that leaves us very happy, and at the same time urges us to be better every day to meet the expectations of our new students both from an academic point of view and from infrastructure, student support, accompaniment."

Dr. Rojas explained that the faculty with the most enrollment was Engineering, which filled 106% of its places.

Among the majors, Industrial Civil Engineering stands out with 111% of enrolled versus available vacancies, Mining Civil Engineering with 105% and Law with 109%.

Waiting list and re-application 

On Saturday, January 20, at 00:01, the registration process opened for those on the waiting list, which extends until this Friday, January 26.

This year there were 5.156 people waiting for 25 available places in Journalism, Design, Commercial Engineering, Pedagogy in History and Geography, Ped. in Early Childhood Education, and Ped. in Differential Education.

Meanwhile, this Monday the re-application period began, an extraordinary call for people who did not apply for a degree within the regular deadlines and procedures and who have not enrolled in another university affiliated with the Mineduc Access System.

In this process, only those who took the winter PDT 2022, the regular PAES 2022 and 2023, as well as the winter test last year and who meet the requirements of each race can apply.

The majors that have places available for re-application are Pedagogy in Mathematics and Computing (10), Pedagogy in Mathematics and Physics (12), Pedagogy in Chemistry and Natural Sciences (16), Food Engineering (10), Agronomic Engineering (20) and Pedagogy in Basic General Education Ovalle Campus (10).
