In the context of the project under development “Valuing the productive activity of the entrepreneurial artisans of the community of San Pedro, to strengthen the production, perception and recognition of the heritage and/or cultural identity value of their products and/or services ”, the School of Design, through the Innovation and Design Workshop subject, the Poverty Overcoming Foundation (FSP) and the Municipality of Río Hurtado, made the design proposals for a product marketing point for artisans and entrepreneurs from the aforementioned town of the Río Hurtado commune.

In this context, the students of the Innovation and Design Workshop of the course attached to the Faculty of Humanities of the University of La Serena, developed creation proposals for marketing points (stand) of the products made by the artisans of the sector, with local identity seal.

Based on the proposals created by the students of the course, the academic of the Product Development subject, Nicolas Cerda, manufactured two prototypes of the stand.

The delivery, which was carried out together with FSP professionals, also allowed the seven artisans who participated in the project to be trained in the assembly, disassembly and maintenance of each module.

The artisans and professionals of the FSP will begin negotiations with the Municipality of Río Hurtado for the financing and manufacturing of the stands of the group of artisans of San Pedro, who hope to use the modules and in this way offer a better service and enhance the tourist offer and services in the commune.
