New meeting Virtual National Meeting PACE Network

More than 60 professionals from all over the country participated in this work instance of the support program network.

The Access to Higher Education Program (PACE), dependent on the Academic Vice-Rector's Office of the University of La Serena, was part of the organization of this new work meeting and meeting between the university campuses, executors of the measure of the Ministry of Education.

The objective of this initiative was to seek to continue contact, reactivate and deepen instances of collaboration between the 31 Higher Education Institutions (HEI) PACE Chile. In this regard, Mg Viviana Romero Elgueda, Executive Director APRENDE PACE ULS, expressed: “This new meeting is very relevant for the formation of a work network of all higher education institutions, around the work and actions contemplated by the program. PACE, both at the level of access and support, especially in the great challenge that support in the application process for admission 2021 represents.”

The call for this instance, this time was for two representatives from IES: coordinators of the components of Preparation in Secondary Education (PEM), Accompaniment in Higher Education (AES) and Executive coordinators of the program. For Nieves Hernández Manqui, PACE UMCE Executive Coordinator, these meeting instances are valuable for the work that is carried out every day and she stated: “I find the opportunity and effort of meeting to highlight collaborative work and teamwork very valuable. that unites all the PACE institutions in the country. This self-convocation allows us to articulate work for the benefit of all the young people we accompany both in Secondary Education and Higher Education.”

On the other hand, in the first part of this meeting, the results of the National PACE Meeting were presented, as well as the projection of networking. The second was work by zones to define articulation mechanisms and possible collaboration agenda for 2021, with a focus on collaboration for the 2021 application process. In this context, Cristian Herrera Valdés, AES PACE UBB coordinator, from the Universidad del Bío -Bío, specified: “the national PACE network instances are very fruitful, since they raise horizontal problems and good practices at the country level that we have also been limiting, establishing macrozone networks. On this occasion, the activity focuses on future topics for working online, where the fundamental axis is to strengthen the network with information, which will be very useful when working on our admission and enrollment milestone. It also invites us to encourage the PEM-AES link by publishing the PACE admission of the different HEIs, promoting the offer within the macrozone.”

The next meeting date has already been defined and new work objectives have been established, to continue giving life to this National PACE Network.
