These Camps give middle school students the opportunity to practice and reinforce their English in real contexts.

From Monday, December 4 to Thursday, December 07, the First English Immersion Camp “English Summer Camps” took place in the building of the Pedagogy in Basic General Education - Ovalle, located on the Limarí Campus of the University of La Serena. 2017”, for 3rd level students of Secondary Technical and Professional Education (EMTP), organized by the English Open Doors Program and the Technical Secretariat of Technical and Professional Education, of the Ministry of Education.

Within the framework of the Educational Reform, the new EMTP camps were held in the regions where the first state Technical Training Centers will soon be inaugurated: Tarapacá, Coquimbo, Maule, La Araucanía and Los Lagos, to which the Region of Valparaiso.

The activities were monitored by a team made up of Chilean facilitators (English Pedagogy students in their last 2 years of study), qualified English teachers, and English-speaking volunteers belonging to the PIAP National Volunteer Center and the United Nations Program for the development.

These Camps provide middle school students with the opportunity to practice and reinforce their English in real contexts, developing values ​​such as camaraderie, solidarity and social awareness through entertaining, interactive and dynamic activities.
