Objectives and Strategies


General Purpose

Strengthen the Teaching Improvement Unit of the University of La Serena through the creation and implementation of the Innovation and Transfer area in learning, teaching and curricular management to accompany a systemic change in the University's Curricular Innovation process.

Specific Objective No. 1: Design and develop a conducive environment to strengthen the implementation process of Curricular Innovation at the University of La Serena.

Specific associated strategies:

  • 1 strategy: Creation of the Innovation and Transfer Area in Learning, Teaching and Curriculum Management dependent on the Teaching Improvement Unit of the Teaching Directorate of the Academic Vice-Rector's Office.
  • 2 strategy: Enabling a physical space that identifies the area of ​​Innovation and Transfer of learning, teaching and evaluation strategies (AIT Room).
  • 3 strategy: Installation of equipment and furniture to enable an AIT room, generating an environment conducive to the analysis, implementation and evaluation of learning, teaching and curricular management strategies that promote innovation and transfer in order to optimize the implementation of the Curricular Innovation process in the University of La Serena
  • 4 strategy: Constitution of a multidisciplinary team that will accompany the processes of the different participating actors.
  • 5 strategy: Identification of successful and replicable experiences in the implementation of curricular innovation in other national and international higher education institutions through visits, knowledge and analysis of said experiences. related to the three focus areas of this project (learning, teaching, curricular management).

Specific Objective No. 2: Enhance, in students of innovative curricula, the ability to build deep learning and develop affective-motivational skills through the use of analysis strategies of their training process.

Specific associated strategies:

  • 1 strategy: Socialization of the work plan of the Innovation and Transfer area with students of innovative curricula, in the context of their professional training process.
  • 2 strategy: Generation of instances of analysis of the learning process and the strategies used, both individually and in teams.
  • 3 strategy: Survey of needs related to the learning strategies used by students and proposals to optimize them and thus achieve deep learning and development of affective-motivational skills.
  • 4 strategy: Empowerment and reinforcement of students' abilities to build deep learning and develop affective-motivational skills, assuming an active and responsible role in their training process, generating a cultural change both at the level of the institution's way of working, and at the of each member of the training process.

Specific Objective No. 3: Design and implement teaching and curricular management strategies to promote deep learning and develop affective-motivational skills in students of innovative curricula at the University of La Serena.

Specific associated strategies:

  • 1 strategy: Socialization of the proposal of the Innovation and Transfer area in the context of the teaching and curricular management process.
  • 2 strategy: Generation of instances of analysis of the teaching process and curricular management, both individually and in teams.
  • 3 strategy: Survey of needs related to training processes to achieve deep learning considering diversity.
  • 4 strategy: Generation of programs that allow the promotion and reinforcement of management and teaching capacities within the framework of the ULS1402 Project under the responsibility of the Teaching Directorate.
