Master in Industrial Engineering (MII)
Department of Industrial Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of La Serena - Chile.


Objectives:

  • Contribute to the specialization of professionals in the development of competences, concepts, methodologies, tools and knowledge, with an emphasis on quantitative methodologies and use of problem modeling in productive organizations, leading to achieve the skills needed to manage excellence in the globalized world of today.
  • Delivery of a solid base of scientific, technical and methodological knowledge in disciplines of Industrial Engineering.
  • Development of skills to face complex problems, shaping solutions and making efficient decisions with tools of the Sciences of Management.
  • Promotion of innovation in management, considering the social and ethical responsibility of every professional.
  • Delivery of a comprehensive training in order to complement the conceptualization of theoretical subjects with practical applications, in order to achieve the development of skills necessary for excellent management.
  • Training of a professional with strategic vision able to situate in the globalized world of today.

Curriculum:

The MII program lasts a total of two years (4 semesters).

During the first two semesters (year 1) participants must complete and pass a basic cycle for a master's degree in industrial engineering that considers 9 subjects, in the third semester a course of specialization is studied and approved that considers three (3) specialized courses and seminars that will have as guests outstanding executives of companies of trajectory, that come to share their experiences of management and / or current issues in the field of Industrial Engineering, within these seminars is considered one in "Research Methodology".

In parallel to the third semester, participants must submit a preliminary draft to address the degree work, which must be approved at the end of that semester.

The fourth semester deals with the graduation cycle, for which the participants must complete the degree work.


Duration: The curriculum of the Program has 486 face-to-face hours and 1134 autonomous hours, equivalent to a total of 60 transferable credits (SCT).


Observation: This program will start in March of the 2017, its application process will take place from January of 2017.
