They invite you to learn about various research on cognition and language

The meeting, which will take place over two days, will have the participation of the University of Antioquia, Colombia

The departments of Arts and Letters, Education and Psychology of the Faculty of Humanities of the University of La Serena invite the Third Meeting on Advances in Research in Cognition and Language in Times of Crisis.

This event will be held virtually on Thursday, November 11 and Friday, November 12, 2021, consolidating an instance of discussion of current findings and knowledge, the product of research work that addresses language, cognition or the relationship between cognition and language. These advances are aimed at understanding the cognitive-linguistic complexities of reading, writing and speaking in academic settings, as well as the acquisition or deterioration of the mother tongue.

The objective of the Third Meeting is to generate a space for exchange and discussion between national and foreign researchers, teachers, students and research groups that work on topics related to language and cognition, in times of crisis. In this way, we hope to create a space for conversation between specialists from different disciplines and participants with different degrees of expertise around language and cognition in times of crisis.

On this occasion, the University of Antioquia, Medellín, Colombia, participates as a guest, with the presence of prominent academics and researchers who will be part of all instances of the meeting.

The thematic areas that have been defined are:

• Written production in times of crisis

• Written comprehension in times of crisis

• Oral production in times of crisis

• Oral comprehension in times of crisis

• Acquisition of the mother tongue in times of crisis

• Multimodality in times of crisis
