The sample collections, which were coordinated by the Human Resources Directorate of the ULS and the Coquimbo Health Service, were carried out in the context of active research, that is, only for asymptomatic people who do not need to quarantine.

The person in charge of the ULS Prevention Department, Verónica Antiñirre, pointed out that “the procedure for the operation was fully regulated and under security standards. The entry was orderly, the guards did an excellent job, putting up a sanitary barrier, taking the temperature and verifying that the entries were those on the official list. The attention from the health professionals was cordial, they introduced themselves and told you how the exam would be performed, and that gave you peace of mind.”

In the operation carried out this Wednesday, from 10 a.m. to 13 p.m., 187 PCR samples were carried out that were referred to the diagnostic centers dependent on the Coquimbo Health Service and whose results will be informed by telephone call 3 or 4 days after being carried out. the exam.

The person in charge of the Covid-ULS Laboratory, Dr. Cristian Ibáñez, explained that this operation was carried out after a request made during the implementation of the regional PCR sample analysis laboratory, adding that “the Health Service responded positively to us and agreed to make samples for officials who are working in person on the different campuses of the university and for postgraduate students who are doing their theses in the laboratories; A list was defined from Human Resources and the required protocols were implemented to carry out this instance, which was supported by the Vice-Rector for Economic and Administrative Affairs and the authorities of the ULS.”
