The String and Wind Ensemble will be in charge of reviving masterful pieces by Mozart and Dvořák.

With a new and inspiring program for the month of June, the University of La Serena Symphony Orchestra is already getting ready to fill new communes in the Province of Elqui with great symphonies. On this occasion, it is the second Chamber Music Concert that will feature the String and Wind Ensemble of the regional ensemble, which seeks to enchant its attendees with a distinguished selection of works of European origin.

camera2Pieces such as the 'Quartet for Oboe and Strings K.370 in F Major' and the 'Quartet in F Major K 496 for clarinet, violin, viola and cello' by the acclaimed Austrian composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, will be part of the musical events. Added to this is the work titled 'Quartet No. 12, Op. 96 in F Major American' by maestro Antonín Dvořák, who was considered the main representative of Czech nationalism in music and known as one of the great masters of the second half of the XNUMXth century.

This month's symphonic journey will be led by the musicians Leonardo Godoy, Paulina Elgueta and Daniel Navea (violin), Polyana Brehmer and Ricardo Muñoz (viola), Monserrat Trujillo (violoncello), Leonardo Cuevas (oboe) and Erick Delgado (clarinet) , who will offer this sublime repertoire for chamber format in the communes of Coquimbo and La Serena. The first date of the II Territorial Extension Concert will take place in the Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary present in the historic neighborhood of Guayacán, declared a Typical Zone in 2005 by the Council of National Monuments.

camera3Regarding this new presentation in the Coquimba territory, the coordinator of the Department of Culture of the Illustrious Municipality of Coquimbo, José Manuel Jiménez Bustamante, stated that, in the first instance, “we thank the Universidad de La Serena Symphony Orchestra for this alliance virtuous that they have with the Municipality of Coquimbo; We thank you for giving us this opportunity, for thinking about Coquimbo and for thinking about Guayacán as a new setting to present your chamber programming. This concert will take place on Thursday, June 13 and I invite everyone to attend because it will be a wonderful concert,” he stressed.

Later, on Friday, June 14, the musicians will travel to the regional capital, where they will replicate this magnificent concert of European origin in the Aula Magna of the Ignacio Domeyko Campus of the University of La Serena (Benavente #980).

Both concerts will start at 20 p.m. and are free, with no withdrawal of invitations.

It should be noted that this new season is developed thanks to the financing of the Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Heritage, which since 2016 has been attached to the National Budget Glosa; in addition to the important institutional support provided by the University of La Serena, through the Directorate of Linkage with the Environment and Extension (DIVEULS); the Municipality of La Serena, through its Department of Culture; and the Municipality of Coquimbo through its Department of Culture.
