4th bonding meeting

These meetings seek to provide a work space for the generation of alliances that enhance the development of multidisciplinary activities.

Authorities, managers and executors of the various Environment Linkage activities of the University of La Serena, participated in the fourth meeting of the ULS Internal Linkage Network with the Environment. On the occasion, the “Presentation of Linkage Projects with the Environment 2016-2017” and the presentation on “Laws on Higher Education and State Universities” were developed.

This instance is the fourth meeting of a network that was formed with the objective of disseminating and extending to the internal community, progress, achievements, outstanding results and challenges in the areas of Engagement with the Environment; and on this occasion, it was the turn of those entities that have obtained financial resources to support and enhance their initiatives in Linking with the Environment.

4th meeting link2For the Academic Vice-Rector, Dr. Jorge Catalán, this “is a great personal satisfaction and for the institution as well, to have the opportunity to learn about the sharing of the academics who were awarded these Environmental Linkage projects. Having that opportunity to meet them, see in detail what was done, the entire process and products that have been achieved and how the requirements have truly been met, such as that the University brings everything it can contribute in research, technological, professional, cultural, artistic, to the community, but at the same time benefits from that interaction with the community in their own training processes.”

Since their inception, these meetings have sought to have a work space for the generation of internal alliances that allow and enhance the development of activities or actions of a multidisciplinary nature, which impact the internal and external environment and which has also enhanced the accreditation of this house of higher education.

“This network contributes to generating a much-needed articulation between academics who carry out Engagement with the Environment. DIVEULS each supports the initiatives in this area, through dissemination, coordination, logistics, etc., but clearly it is essential that the departments and other units of the University maintain more fluid communication about the actions they develop. In this sense, we have seen with great pleasure that there are projects that contemplate interdisciplinary work,” stated the Director of Liaison with the Environment and Extension, Dr. Catalina Cvitanic.
