This agreement was signed by the Rector(s) of the University of La Serena, Dr. Jorge Catalán, the Seremi de Salud, Alejandro García, and the president of the FEULS, Jorge Castillo.

“This is a very valuable initiative for us, so that our young people become aware of the issue, take the appropriate prevention measures and come to consult early if they need it. In Chile there has been a sustained increase in the prevalence and incidence of people with HIV/AIDS, mainly in young people between the ages of 20 and 29, and it is precisely this age group that we have every day at our University; therefore, the preventive measures already carried out must be reinforced, to achieve greater coverage among young people”, said Dr. Jorge Catalán, about this prevention campaign, along with highlighting the high participation of students during the day.

For his part, the president of the FEULS, Jorge Castillo, appreciated the development of this campaign at the university level, stating that "the idea is that people become aware of taking the exam and, in case of detection, follow the corresponding treatments ”.

The launch campaign was attended by students, managers and officials from the state campus, who were also able to tour the various information stands arranged by the Seremi de Salud and the DGAE.
