“Petroglyphs of Northern Chile. Graphic interpretation for its application in design and crafts”, is the title of the second edition of the book by the author Paloma Cancino, which made two presentations during the summer period: at the La Serena Book Fair and at the Book Fair from Ovalle.

In this regard, Ignacio Herrera, in charge of the ULS Publishing House, emphasized that “it is a book that mixes two important elements, which have to do, one with the recovery of these images and second with the practical use of these images by artisans or in education. Based on this, this second edition increased the number of records that the first book had, it also made reference to where those petroglyphs were found and in both fairs, especially in Ovalle, it was a resounding success, all copies were sold in La Serena and in Ovalle too.”

In the La Serena Book Fair The House of Higher Studies had a stand where the public could appreciate the publications of the ULS Publishing and Bookstore. Herrera highlighted that “during the 10 days that the Fair lasted, we were able to see the interest that our publications aroused, especially the books Petroglyphs, by Paloma Cancino; Indigenous Cultural Heritage; Semi-arid North of Chile by Patricio Cerda; the regional classic Crónica de La Serena (1549-1870) by Manuel Concha; Rock art in the Valley of Enchantment by Gonzalo Ampuero; and the 2023 news: Non-Conventional Water Resources in Arid and Semi-Arid Zones by academics Danilo Carvajal Araneda and Sonia Montecinos, and Critical analysis from drawing: Architecture and urbanism throughout history by professors Alejandro Orellana Mc Bride and Alma Ponce Sanchez.”
