They carry out training and constitution of the new Non-Academic Personnel Qualification Board

The Training Session for the Qualification Process of Non-Academic Personnel and Constitution of the Qualification Board and Start of the 2023 Qualification process was recently held.

The event, held in the Study Room of the Andrés Bello Campus, was organized by the Personnel Department of the Human Resources Directorate. This activity brought together approximately 30 managers, who received training regarding the functions of the members of the Rating Board and how to operate their corresponding section on the Phoenix platform.

Additionally, the Qualifying Board was established, which as a novelty incorporates a non-academic representative per class, elected by their peers with their respective substitute.

With this act, the Qualification process of non-academic officials began, reviewing in the first instance the prequalifications by status. This process will be carried out during the sessions of the Qualifying Board that will take place in the month of January.

The Academic Vice-Rector, Dr. Alejandra Torrejón Vergara, pointed out that “as an institution we are carrying out the Qualification process for Non-Academic Personnel as indicated in Article 13 of Decree 1825/1998 of the Ministry of the Interior, which approves the Qualifications Regulations. of Personnel affected by the Administrative Statute. We believe that qualification systems are necessary and essential to evaluate the worker's performance in their respective position, to corroborate the way in which they relate to their colleagues and superiors, and also to provide objective information to the official, all of this aimed at continuous improvement of the processes installed within the institution.”

Likewise, the Director of Human Resources, Miguel Sánchez, during his initial speech, indicated that “a couple of months ago we began the Prequalification process and explained the importance it had for our institution, since it is relevant for the organization to know how we are and for the officials to know how they are doing it. Today we begin the last stage that is tremendously important, there is a decree that establishes that there are certain members who are going to participate in this stage and that they will have to validate or listen to the background, in order to somehow observe the prequalification carried out by the bosses previously. . The Director also added that "another important milestone is that for the first time this process is carried out on the platform, in an online format, this responds to the ULS digital transformation process."

Conformation and Functions of the Qualifying Board

The Qualifying Board is made up of deliberating members: Academic Vice-Rector (president), Vice-Rector for Economic and Administrative Affairs, Vice-Rector for Research and Postgraduate Studies, Secretary General, Internal Comptroller, and elected representatives of non-academic officials.

As substitute members, there are the General Director of Student Affairs, Dean of the Faculty of Sciences, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Dean of the Faculty of Social, Business and Legal Sciences, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, as well as a delegate of the Association of Civil Servants, a member with right by voice and the secretary of the Qualifying Board, in charge of the Personnel Department.

Once the prequalification process is completed, the Qualifying Board will be established who will ratify or modify the grades defined by the Prequalifier.
