This publication is the result of collaborative work between the School of Journalism and the Office of Dissemination and Dissemination of Science and Technology of the University of La Serena.

With the aim of bringing the knowledge generated at the University of La Serena closer, the ULS launched its magazine “Ciencia que Late”, a joint work between the subject of Journalism Specialized in Science of the School of Journalism and the Office of Dissemination and Dissemination of Science and technology.

The magazine incorporates reports and interviews with academics who recount the development of their research and has the participation of journalism students in the editorial staff, who were present at the ceremony.

The Vice-Rector for Research and Postgraduate Studies, Dr. Eduardo Notte Cuello commented that “the importance of communicating scientific advances is related to contributing to society being more critical, participatory and with a broader vision of the environment in which they live. The dissemination of science is in line with bringing knowledge closer to society.”

For her part, Arlyn Orellana, an academic with a degree in Journalism, expressed that "the participation of the students in the creation of this magazine was fundamental. This space allowed them to connect with the investigative world developed by academics from the ULS. , which is the place where knowledge is generated. In addition, the experience nourished the graduation profile of the students and at the same time, it also benefited the Dissemination office, in this collaborative work we all win."

For his part, Sergio Muñoz, coordinator of the Dissemination Office, explained that "this is another of the actions that we carry out in the Dissemination Office to share the knowledge that is generated in our University. We believe that it is a responsibility of the University public to make known what our academics produce and how they contribute to the improvement of society.

There are already two volumes in digital version and the third will be released soon.
