Faculty of Cs. Social, Business and Legal graduates 251 new professionals

The majors assigned to the FACSEJ are: Commercial Engineering, Auditing, Business Administration Engineering, Law, Journalism and Pedagogy in History and Geography.

In a solemn ceremony carried out virtually, the Faculty of Social, Business and Legal Sciences of the University of La Serena graduated 251 new professionals, an event headed by the Rector, Dr. Nibaldo Avilés, and the Dean FACSEJ , Dr. Luperfina Rojas Escobar, along with managers, academics and relatives of the new professionals.

Facsej 2 qualificationOn the occasion, the Dean of the Faculty of Social, Business and Legal Sciences, Dr. Luperfina Rojas Escobar, thanked the attendees and pointed out, regarding the type of ceremony, that “the coronavirus pandemic has left us with many consequences, and teachings, negative and other positive. Among the latter, today we can communicate from a distance, manage our time better and be present despite miles away. We know that no screen replaces face-to-face contact, hugs, looks and smiles live, but through technology we were able to see each other, communicate and continue learning, through other devices.”

Regarding the completion of this stage and academic process, the Dean sent a message to the graduates present at the ceremony "as a University we are convinced that in a world like the current one, which imposes limits on our planet in terms of resources and means, human beings can count on renewable resources that represent their intelligence, creativity and inventiveness, an imprint nourished by the maximum respect for the rights and dignity of all, therefore, you as professionals, trained at a University State, are called to promote and spread a message of peace, trust and tolerance, rejecting all types of rejection or discrimination towards other human beings. even more so in today's Chile, multicultural, multicolored, which welcomes and provides opportunities to those seeking a better quality of life in our country."

This is how the graduate Jessica Aravena Tapia, from the Business Administration Engineering major, was distinguished as the best average of her career, who also received the traditional University of La Serena award, which recognizes the best average of all the undergraduate degrees. the faculty. She also received recognition from the Association of Tourism Professionals and Technicians in Chile, Aprotur, who congratulated her achievement.

Finally, the new professional delivered an emotional speech where she thanked her family and friends, as well as the University for everything she taught and the Faculty for the support given and giving a heartfelt message to her colleagues: “Today we are winners, not as that we have completed but of the challenges that begin, we have finished our training stage, but not the final objective, let us contribute to the development of our environment, our work, our country, let us project ourselves as leaders.”
