PACE ULS delivers a materials kit to former students of the program

The team of the Accompaniment in Higher Education (AES) component of the Access to Higher Education (PACE) program managed to fulfill the pending commitment with its former accompanied students from 2019.

The accompaniment and access program, belonging to the Student Support Office (OAME), dependent on the Academic Vice-Rector's Office of our institution, resumed its commitment to the former students of its 2019 cohort, which, for reasons of the health contingency, which We live could not receive the study materials kit that was delivered by the program.

Starting in the second week of August, the AES PACE ULS team resumed the actions to deliver support supplies to the former students belonging to the government measure. In this regard, Graciela Rivera, Social Worker, argued: “unfortunately the delivery of the PACE kit, had to be suspended for this second group that was pending, given the health emergency and due to internal administrative issues, which is why we are very happy as a team to be able to resume this action that benefits our young people, who despite who are no longer formally accompanied by us, continue to be part of our PACE ULS family.”

But: What is the PACE ULS Kit?

The PACE Kit is an action designed, created and developed by the team of professionals from the Higher Education Support team (AES) of the University of La Serena, whose objective was to provide support inputs for the students' learning. ; in addition to sharing information about the types of support that the program provides, how to access them and above all, highlighting the symbolic value based on our commitment as a program to our students.

When asked, to our students who received this set of materials, Tania Quinzacara, student of Pedagogy in Early Childhood Education, cohort 2019, expressed: “I tell you that I will always be grateful for each of the people on the pace team, for those who still there are and the new ones because thanks to you there are many students who managed to reach a place that always emphasizes to us that the university will be far away, Pace is the lantern that lights the way for us and provides tools to continue in the fight of our dreams, break barriers and above all give that encouragement to continue in the face of a thousand adversities that the world presents to us. Thank you".

For his part, Cristian Rojas, student of Pedagogy in English, Cohort 2019, said: “this morning I received the PACE KIT and I must admit that it is very useful. The agenda 10/10 and very personalized haha ​​I really liked it and the pendrive, just in time to save all my documents, thank you very much for the management and very nice gesture.”

And, for her part, Damari Altamirano, Journalism student, cohort 2019, currently Par tutor of the PACE ULS Journalism degree, added: “I am grateful for what was given to us, since they are super useful things to start the second semester , and to which many times not all of us have access, especially the pendrive. Thank you so much".

It should be noted that the AES PACE Higher Education Support team of our institution completed the delivery of materials to its two cohorts, distributing 191 sets of materials for the PACE enabled students in the 2019 and 2020 cohorts.
