Massive participation of citizens in the celebration of ULS Science Day

Through various audiovisual formats of dissemination and dissemination of research originated by the university, citizens were able to get closer to the work and scientific development carried out by the institution.

Motivated by the commitment to share knowledge that improves life, University of La Serena developed a rich agenda of activities, within the framework of celebrating the National Day of Sciences, Technology, Knowledge and Innovation.

More than 2 thousand people participated in the talks remotely, as a result of the health contingency, arranged by the Vice-Rector for Research and Postgraduate Studies through its Office of Dissemination and Dissemination of Science and Technology, on various topics such as Astronomy, Flora and Fauna, Covid-19, Flowering Desert, History and Sustainability among others.

The Vice-Rector for Research and Postgraduate Studies of the ULS, Dr. Eduardo Notte Cuello, stated that “the National Day of Sciences, Technology, Knowledge and Innovation is an initiative that was enacted by law in 2018 and promoted by the network of Universities of the State of Chile, whose purpose is to disseminate science so that the community in general knows and enjoys these topics, encourage new generations to ask questions, seek answers and increase the understanding of nature, with a focus scientist. On the other hand, the dissemination and dissemination of knowledge is very important so that citizens understand that doing science is not a luxury, it is the most intelligent way to face the problems that nature imposes on us and allows the development of the economy of a country adequately protecting the environment.”  

The ULS made available various audiovisual formats for dissemination and dissemination of science and technology research originated by the university, and having a reach of more than 2 thousand accounts on Instagram, 8 thousand on Facebook and 15 thousand on Twitter; allowing citizens to get closer to the work and scientific development carried out by the institution.
