Conference cycle invites you to reflect on how to better face the challenges of quarantine

mini conference

The initiative begins this Wednesday, July 8, and seeks to provide contributions from Psychology to national health issues.

A new initiative that will share knowledge and reflections around the quarantine and the challenges that arise in these times of COVID-19, is the one that will be presented by the Department of Psychology and the Directorate of Liaison with the Environment and Extension of the University of La Serena, every Wednesday, starting on July 8 at 15:00 p.m.

These activities seek to reinforce institutional actions that reflect the civic commitment of the University of La Serena with its territory and regional community. Each academic will prepare the talk in relation to questions that can answer relevant topics for the community, taking a look from well-being as the axis of the conversation. As it has been on previous occasions, these reflections will be expressed in simple and friendly language.

In the first activity, Dr. Susan Galdames, an academic from the ULS Department of Psychology, will be a guest, who will address the topic Self-care and Mental Health, where she will answer questions such as: What is meant by mental health? Why is quarantine in Could current conditions affect mental health? and How self-care can help prevent mental health problems?

This mini conference will be broadcast via YouTube, on the institutional channel Linking with the ULS Media, and will be held weekly during the months of July and August, from 15:00 p.m. to 15:30 p.m. aimed at the entire community.
