Team from the University of La Serena participates in “II Meeting of Pace Programs, Macro Northern Zone”

The theme of the activity was related to the question: How do we reach our beneficiaries in times of confinement in the north of the country?

In order to comply with the operational plan of the program and continue strengthening ties with other higher education institutions, the PACE ULS program team participated in the second version of the so-called: “Pace Programs Work Meeting, Northern Zone”, this time organized by the University of Tarapacá (UTA).

The objective of the event was to share strategies and collaborative work experiences between the different PACE teams of the Northern Macro Zone. Fundamentally, in relation to the delivery of support to beneficiaries in the current context, both in educational establishments and in higher education.

Regarding the participation of the PACE ULS accompaniment program team, Jovanna González, Coordinator of the Preparation Component in Secondary Education (PEM), expressed: “It was once again a valuable opportunity to review and reflect on our practices, share experiences that have been successful for us and those that have not been so successful, which helps us to have a broader vision of the work carried out in the different universities. I greatly value the opportunity to meet, thanks to this new form of communication, we have been able to strengthen ties between the PACE program teams and work collaboratively.”PACE macro northern zone 2 meeting

The theme of the event was focused on the question: "How do we reach our beneficiaries in times of confinement in the north of the country?" As in the previous version of the meeting, the modality was expository and there was space for dialogue. The Coordinator of the PACE ULS Higher Education Component, Mg. Claudia Toledo, said: “This work space is very valuable because it has allowed us to learn about the practices implemented in the PACE teams in the northern zone and that we can replicate adjusted to our context.” .

In this same sense, Javiera Contreras, Mentor and Follow-up and Monitoring Support Professional AES PACE ULS, stated: “I found it to be a very beneficial experience, especially to learn about the work of our colleagues in the northern macro zone, to know the experiences of how students are being reached, in this period of pandemic; We analyze some transversal problems of the nature of the program, with which we can retrospect our own work and realize that we are on a good path implementing our actions.”

It is expected to continue these work meetings between higher education institutions (HEIs) in the northern part of the country, whose first version was promoted and organized by the Executive Director of PACE ULS, Mg. Viviana Romero Elgueda.
