Law organizes Contracts Seminar in Chile

Reflecting on the current contractual legislation in the country was the central objective of the Seminar “Current Current Contract Law in Chile: Training, Compliance and Non-Compliance”, an event that included prestigious academics from the Fernando Fueyo Foundation.

The seminar was attended by university authorities, academics and a notable attendance of Law students from the University of La Serena, who witnessed four presentations by prominent academics in the area.

right 2For the Director of the Law degree, Mg. Carlos Magna Rodríguez, the instance allowed us to demonstrate and learn about the contract processes, with a view to updating them. “This is an important issue in which for some years there has been a tendency to improve the view of contracts, it is necessary to review and reinterpret the rules, considering their adaptation to our times,” he stated.

The meeting included four presentations by prominent academics from the Fernando Fueyo Foundation, who expressed their knowledge and provided different guidelines for the analysis of those present.

Firstly, Dr. Patricia López Díaz spoke on “The Formation of the Contract”. Then Dr. Iñigo de La Maza Gazmuri spoke about “The Vices of Consent”. The seminar continued with Dr. Carlos Pizarro Wilson, who discussed “The Resolution”, and Dr. Álvaro Vidal Olivares, who closed with “The Notion of Contractual Breach and its manifestations”.

The day held on September 3, allowed the more than 100 attendees to carry out extensive reflection, from the definition, application and exemplification of the country's contractual scope. In addition, highlight the constant efforts made by the Law major on campus for the student body and the community in general to maintain constant reflection on different topics specific to Law and its impact on the social environment.
