Fragments of the poetry of our Nobel Prize in Literature were stunned on the summits of the Paranao and Gualliguaica hills.

The month of July was chosen for the installation of the fifth and fourth plaque of the “Literary Summits” project, which captures the poetry of Gabriela Mistral in ceramics in the hills of the Elqui Province. summits4

The initiative is promoted by the group “Cultura Activa” - made up of citizens and officials of the University of La Serena -, together with the university and the support of the Rector's Office.

The installation days of these plates took place on the tops of the hills Paranao (3.507 mas.nm) and Gualliguaica or Portillo hill according to the IGM (1.416 meters above sea level), located in the commune of Vicuña, and had a high turnout. In the first a fragment of the poetry “Noche Andina” was captured and in the second the verses from “Valle de Elqui”, which appear in the book “Poema de Chile” by our Nobel Prize in Literature.

The project considers the installation of 10 plates and will end between the months of December and February 2020 on Cerro Las Tórtolas (6.160 meters above sea level), being the plate located at the highest altitude in the Province of Elqui.
