Digital Campus is selected as a successful experience at the VI Congress of the University Network of Continuing Education

The meeting included the participation of the Argentine, Mexican, Peruvian and Chilean network.

With the aim of having a panoramic vision of the current scenario of digital continuing education in the country and Latin America, the Digital Campus team of the University of La Serena, represented by Humberto Farías, head of Digital Campus, together with Pablo Sánchez, in charge of the ULS Training Office (OTEC), traveled to the Metropolitan Region to participate and present in the VI version of the Congress of the University Network of Continuing Education held in the facilities of the Universidad Mayor.

This conference was developed around the theme called: "Digital transformation in lifelong learning", where the impact that the concept of digital transformation has on this educational modality and what the challenges are was analyzed and reflected on. that are emerging with the new times.

digital campus2In the instance, the representatives of the University of La Serena were selected to present about the work carried out by the Digital Campus; this as part of the 4 presentations on “successful experiences” of the day.

This opportunity, according to Humberto Farías, “allowed us to validate that the level of technological development and the training process of the Digital Campus has transformed the University of La Serena into a national leader in distance education, especially since the incorporation of cutting-edge technologies. to this educational format.”

This version of the congress also had thematic panels focused on different subjects related to digital continuing education, such as management, public policies, ethics and security in education; in addition to having the participation of a panel with international guests who contributed their experiences from the different Continuing Education networks at the Latin American level.

Faced with this broad content proposal, Pablo Sánchez stated: “we had the opportunity to listen to different talks and, indeed, the work being carried out by the Digital Campus is very aligned with what national and international leaders are proposing, not only through of literature, but that day, through the exposition of his convictions, we were able to contrast it.”
