PACE Regional Meeting addresses linkage experiences between the areas of secondary and higher education

The three Higher Education Institutions (IES) of the Coquimbo Region met at CEDUC UCN.

The PACE teams from ULS, UCN and CEDUC-UCN and representatives from SECREDUC Coquimbo met to analyze the different experiences they have developed to enhance the link between the areas of Preparation for Secondary Education (PEM) and Accompaniment in Higher Education ( AES).

The day considered presentations from each of the HEIs, and then gave space for questions from the attendees.

pace ies2For the Secondary Education Preparation Coordinator of PACE ULS, Loreto Garrido, this meeting was beneficial, since it was possible to glimpse the work carried out by other institutions. “The idea of ​​this day was basically to be able to share how we are working regarding the linking of our two work areas PEM and AES. Therefore, it is necessary to move forward as a PACE Program in articulating actions with the other HEI programs,” she expressed.

For her part, PACE ULS Executive Coordinator, Viviana Romero, indicated that these instances of meetings, between the IES and SECREDUC Coquimbo, call for reflection. “I sincerely believe that they are excellent opportunities for the teams to see that no matter which of them you belong to, we all live the same situations day by day and it is also important to know that you are not alone and that there are teams not only in the Coquimbo Region, but throughout Chile we are contributing to the inclusion and restitution of the right to higher education of the students of the educational establishments assigned to the PACE Program.”

Meanwhile, the Executive Coordinator of the PACE CEDUC-UCN Program, Solange Moreno, explained the objective of this event: “mainly this meeting sought to articulate the levels of secondary and higher education for the analysis and understanding of the challenges faced by young people accompanied in this stage of their lives, and what the Program's PACE teams can strengthen to enhance this transition."
