Faculty of Sciences graduates 129 new professionals

This year highlighted the graduation of the first generation of Kinesiology graduates.

A total of 129 new professionals qualified this year from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of La Serena, who received their titles and degrees in a solemn and emotional ceremony held in the Aula Magna Ignacio Domeyko.

science graduation2This event highlighted the delivery of diplomas to the first generation of graduates of the Kinesiology degree, adding to the titles received by the graduates of Pedagogy in Biology and Natural Sciences, Ped. in Mathematics and Computing, Ped. in Mathematics and Physics, Ped in Chemistry and Cs. Natural Sciences, Bachelor's Degree in Astronomy, Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Agricultural Engineering, Computer Engineering, Nursing, Laboratory Chemist and Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry.

“Today, our faculty, the Faculty of Sciences of the University of La Serena, is proud of these 129 professionals from 12 of our careers, who are beginning a new stage in their lives. There are also 129 families who see their efforts crowned, and who from their box observe the flapping of the wings of their own, and who, defying the wind, undertake their own flight," said the Dean(s) of the Faculty of Sciences in his speech. , Dr. Héctor Reyes, who congratulated the new professionals for this important achievement.

The authority added: “do not be conceited about success, which will surely not elude you, because success exists to the extent that failure exists. But also, do not be afraid of failure because it coexists with success; together they make a whole.”

This year, the University of La Serena Award went to the new State professor in Biology and Sciences. Naturals, Brayan Castillo Castillo, who received the distinction from the Vice-Rector for Economic and Administrative Affairs, Dr. Alejandra Torrejón, on behalf of the Rector, Dr. Nibaldo Avilés. This award has been established by the Rector's Office with the aim of providing adequate and timely recognition to student dedication and performance.

For its part, the Faculty of Sciences Award, awarded to graduates who completed the Study Plan in a period not exceeding two semesters than stipulated in the program decree and with the highest weighted average of the promotion, was obtained by: Brayan Castillo Castillo (Ped. in Biology and Natural Sciences), Katerine Rivera Carvajal (Ped. in Mathematics and Computing), Luis Alejandro Albornoz Morales (Ped. in Mathematics and Physics), Guillermo Martínez Aguirre (Ped. in Chemistry and Natural Sciences ), Pablo Araya Araya (Bachelor in Astronomy), Francisco Díaz Rojas (Bachelor in Mathematics), Natalia Rivera Villalobos (Agronomic Engineering), Pablo Salinas Gallardo (Nursing), Aylin Díaz Ramírez (Laboratory Chemist), Darly Concha Núñez (Bachelor in Chemistry) and Javiera Castro Slomp, Anuar Gascón Muñoz and Fernando Rojas Galleguillos (Kinesiology).

Finally, the new kinesiologist Anuar Gascón delivered a few words to everyone present, representing the graduates of the ULS Faculty of Sciences.

This graduation ceremony was attended by university authorities, directors, academics, family, parents and friends of this class of professionals.
