CNED accredits the Pedagogy degree in Spanish and Philosophy for three years

The resolution was officially communicated to the University of La Serena on July 05, 2018, by virtue of the appeal presented by the institution on May 25.

The National Council of Education (CNED) officially informed the University of La Serena of its decision to accept the appeal presented on May 25, 2018 by the Pedagogy program in Spanish and Philosophy taught by the university, against the Accreditation Resolution No. 278 of the National Accreditation Commission and against Resolution No. 330 that did not accept the appeal for reconsideration filed by the University.

The degree, which has been in existence for 37 years, within the first three processes had two, three and four years of accreditation, respectively; However, in her fourth trial she was not accredited. Ultimately, the Appeal was made to the CNED, an organization that accepted and determined to grant three years of accreditation to the degree, which will end on June 27, 2021.

The presentation of the appeal for the Pedagogy program in Spanish and Philosophy was carried out by the Rector of the University of La Serena, the Academic Vice-Rector, the Program Coordinator and the president of the Student Center of the program.
 
The documents that formalize the decision are already in the possession of the degree Coordination, headed by academic Luis Aguirre, for consideration of the background.

The Rector pointed out that "I must highlight and mainly thank the great commitment to the course shown by the president of the Student Center, Gustavo Segovia, and the Coordinator of the course, Luis Aguirre, whose contributions were important for the presentation at the CNED. , where the Academic Vice-Rector, Dr. Jorge Catalán, also had a prominent role.
