New students participate in induction program at the Central Library

The new students who entered the school took a complete tour of the different facilities.

Every year, as part of the activities of the Induction to University Life program carried out by the U. de La Serena to welcome new students, staff from the Irma Salas Central Library carry out a complete tour of all the facilities that new students and old ones used to request study texts, research journals, newspaper archives and virtual classrooms.

One of the majors that participated in this training activity was Environmental Civil Engineering, where around 30 new students had the opportunity to learn about the 3 floors of the institutional Library.

sibuls2It should be noted that this facility, which has more than 150 thousand volumes spread across all its locations, satisfies the information needs in Sciences, Technologies, Humanities and Social Sciences, gathering both physical and virtual information that promotes the skills of the students who They are training for working life, their mission being to be a proactive agent in the generation of knowledge for the university community, building, preserving and increasing collections, in addition to facilitating their use and dissemination, through innovative services.

The Irma Salas Library meets high standards in its services, and throughout this week it has received new students enrolled in the courses taught by the ULS. The professionals who carry out work in that place have been in charge of showing the facilities, along with explaining the work dynamics that students will face when requesting texts, materials or indexed magazines.

The University Library System administratively depends on the Teaching Directorate and is made up of several study units in the different departments that make up the university.
