ULS welcomes foreign exchange students

The activity aims to integrate young people who come from various countries.

During the day of March 14, the University of La Serena welcomed foreign students who arrived at the university to take an exchange semester. In total, there are 17 young people from different countries, who began their experience with a tour of different spaces of the University, guided by the International Relations Office.

On the occasion, the Vice Chancellor of Economic and Administrative Affairs of the university, Waldo Valencia Cuevas, was the one who, on behalf of the institution, welcomed them to this academic semester and referred to the importance of receiving them. “As a University, first of all, we welcome you, and personally, I hope that you can enjoy your stay in the region and in our University, and that this is a rewarding experience for each of you,” he expressed.

exchange2In addition, the activity included a presentation by the ULS District Tuna, whose members wanted to give a musical reception to their foreign colleagues.

Of the 17 students who arrived at the University during this semester, 9 of them are German, 3 Mexican, 2 Colombian, 2 Spanish and 1 student from the Czech Republic, who in some cases will not only have to adapt to the requirements of the ULS , but also to learn a new language.

It should be noted that during this first semester, 4 students from the University are doing internships in Argentina, Spain, Mexico and Germany, as part of the exchange program.
