image survey non-academic officials 04Sept

The non-academic officials of the University of La Serena demonstrated their commitment to the self-evaluation process, managing to exceed 30% of the surveys of their establishment answered, in a period of 7 days, which makes it evident that everyone is focused on a same objective.

The Executive Self-Evaluation Committee set an estimated barrier of 30% for all levels involved, recognizing this figure as an indicator of success, which raises the perceptions of the institution.

“Putting this instrument 100% online and confidential has allowed officials to have quick access and become familiar with this process, which has been highly participatory. Achieving 30% is the minimum goal, so we still hope to continue arousing the interest and response of our community,” stressed the General Coordinator of the Process and Academic Vice-Rector, Dr. Alejandra Torrejón Vergara.

It should be remembered that this survey is also being sent to graduates and postgraduates, and as of September 3, the survey began to be sent to institutions and companies collaborating with the ULS, as well as employers.

“The task of arousing interest in participating is always arduous, but we trust that the teamwork that has been developed to communicate and enthuse will have positive effects,” explained the director of Strategic Communication, Mg. Carola Espinoza, responsible for the communication strategy of the process.

“The most difficult thing - adds Espinoza - is to summon external agents and graduates and postgraduates. Therefore, we urge everyone who has already answered the survey and is involved in the process to help us by spreading enthusiasm and informing their surroundings. If each of us motivates three more people to respond, this process will be historic due to its very high level of participation,” she stated.

cardiovascular training 1

The study house invested more than 25 million pesos in the purchase, which aims to create cardio-protected spaces in specific places of the institution.

The acquisition of the 14 new defibrillators that the University of La Serena acquired was called a priority and a necessity, in order to have them in case of a cardiorespiratory emergency. That is why 25 million were invested, a figure that also served to buy stretchers, first aid kits and immobilizing collars.

It is for this reason that the Human Resources Directorate, through its Risk Prevention Department, organized a training course in cardiopulmonary resuscitation techniques -CPR- so that 150 officials know how to deal with an emergency, and know the how the automatic external defibrillator is activated and can save a life.

cardiovascular training 2The training has been taking place since Monday and will end on Friday. It lasts 8 hours a day and those who participate are from different units, faculties and directorates of the institution.

The Director of Human Resources, Miguel Sánchez, highlighted “the willingness of the officials who are participating from the different campuses and management areas who have participated in the training for the use of these devices, which will allow for greater reaction capacity. facing a contingency that requires the use of AEDs; In short, we appreciate your willingness and solidarity in committing to this training.”

The investment of the DEA is part of the Strategic Development Plan, which in the field of Institutional Management seeks to strengthen security, evacuation and emergency care equipment on the various campuses of the University.

This project was managed by the Strategic Development and Quality Department and executed by the Prevention Department.

It should be noted that all campuses will have these cardio-protected spaces, which makes the institution send a clear sign of concern for its community. Likewise, the Prevention Department and the external company in charge of training officials will also call on the CECs to enroll in this training and get involved in the task of being warned, informed and prepared for medical emergencies.
